Filta Receives the Prestigious German Sustainability Award

FiltaFOG received the German Sustainability Award 2023 in the category “Design” for its cutting-edge FiltaFOG Cyclone grease recovery unit for the third time.

The prize is the largest of its kind in Europe and is given to outstanding products and solutions due to their design, concept, and trend-setting. This year, more than 1000 participants submitted their entries in eight categories focusing on the impact on resource conservation, environmental protection and sustainability.

The festive gala took place in Düsseldorf on the 2nd of December 2022. “We are delighted to receive this unique award for our FiltaFOG Cyclone grease separation solution in such enormous competition from the very best,” says Jos van Aalst, Managing Director of Filta Germany. “We know that as a company, we can do even more for fat- and waste-free wastewater and hope the award will help us. Grease separation to prevent blocked pipes and grease mountains is an important issue for the catering industry, food production and trade, especially for local water authorities.”

Grease recovery unit of the latest generation wins

With its mobile fryer and oil services, including fryer cleaning and microfiltration of frying oil, Filta ensures more sustainability in commercial kitchens because, thanks to Filta, restaurateurs can reduce the consumption of their frying oil by up to 50%.

Filta Germany has only recently expanded its product and service portfolio with the state-of-the-art FiltaFOG Cyclone grease recovery unit, which was developed by Filta specialists based on practical experience and solves many problems of common grease separators. It is easy to handle for kitchen staff and offers the highest grease recovery rate worldwide thanks to its unique design with eight hydrocyclones.

Grease separation prevents grease, oil and food residues from getting into the wastewater and clogging pipes or the sewage system. In Germany, all businesses that produce water containing grease must use a grease separator. These include, for example, canteens, restaurants, hotels, service areas, butchers and companies in the food industry.

The quality of the oil separated by the FiltaFOG Cyclone is so good that it can be further processed into biodiesel and represents an additional source of income for the restaurateur.
