The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is set to be introduced by the EU on 25th May 2018. GDPR will replace the current Data Protection Act (1998) in the UK and applies to ‘personal data’, which primarily means any information relating to an identifiable person. Filta would like to assure our staff, partners, customers and stakeholders that we are committed to GDPR compliance and at the minimum have already taken the steps to become compliant.

We have reviewed the requirements of GDPR and have made changes to our processes and documentation where necessary to ensure compliance. At least one member of each department has been present during a presentation on GDPR by a GDPR expert and we have already begun to embed a ‘privacy first’ principle within our working culture.
